Directors

We can offer variety of directors. Perfo is affiliated with Slovene and foreign directors from Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Great Britain, Finland, Belgium and the USA. Some of them are young, promising artists while others are renowned directors who have already achieved international recognition. As we have already worked with all of them we can suggest which one of them would be most appropriate for your project.
 
Sašo Podgoršek
Sašo Podgoršek

After graduating from the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana and winning many awards on major student film festivals worldwide for his graduate film But the Goat Survived (1991), he started directing commercials, music videos, documentary, dance and feature films.


 
 
Jure Matjažič
Jure Matjažič

He has been fascinated by the imaginary world and the power of storytelling since he was old enough to hold a pencil. His early ambitions were to become a comic book artist and following this dream, he finished School of Design and Photography in Ljubljana. Soon he discovered his underlying talent for moving pictures and started experimenting with filming short films and writing scripts. One of his first screenplays won a Grossmann Award in 1996.

He shot his first 8mm movies while still in high school. After graduating from the Faculty of Arts at University of Ljubljana he started studying at FAMU in Prague, but later decided to stop his studies. He received many awards for his work, amongst them The best screenplay Award by Slovenian National Television for his short fiction film Supermarket, and many recognitions for his advertising films. Currently he is also developing several movie scripts. 



 
 
Petar Pašić
Petar Pašić
He graduated from the Academy of Drama art in Belgrade, majoring in Film and TV production. In the last four years he has been directing and writing screenplays for films, TV commercials and music videos. In 2000 he directed and wrote the screenplay for his video feature film Soliter and in March of 2003 he wrote and directed a short feature film Last wish, which was accepted to many festivals. He also participated at the Berlinale Talent Campus in 2004. The last feature project he worked on was We are not Angels 3. 



 
 
Janez Lapajne
Janez Lapajne
He is a film direction graduate of Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana. He is considered to be the leading Slovenian independent filmmaker. His works have been awarded many times, be them his student films or his three feature movies Rustling Landscapes (Šelestenje, 2002), Short Circuits (Kratki stiki, 2006) and Personal Baggage (Osebna prtljaga, 2009). 
He is the founder of PoEtika, an occasional academy for researching the art of film directing, that he tutors, and has also been the first president of the Directors Guild of Slovenia. Besides films, he professionally directs for theatre, television and radio and is known for not using storyboards when working. For his two feature movies he is also credited with the script, art directing, editing and production.
 
 
Slobodan Maksimović
Slobodan Maksimović
Between 1996 and 2000 he worked as a journalist in Sarajevo (NTV 99, student radio eFM and TV OBN). In 2003 he started his Film and TV direction studies at the Academy for Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana. His first student short fiction film 1/2 premiered at the 60th Film Festival in Cannes, in the section of Tous Les Cinemas Du Monde. He attended the 1st Talent Campus in Sarajevo as one of the 24 talented directors from South-eastern region of Europe.
